Your set for the school year!  Or are you?

You've recently invested in new reading and writing programs, backed by the latest research.  You've provided training.  You feel ready.

But here's the big question.

Will all of your students benefit?

Check for Yourself!

I'm Jennifer Burns

As a literacy coach, I was shocked when students I supported weren't making progress. When I checked in throughout the day, I realized something: they rarely had time to really read.

Yes, they held books and pencils. But most of their time was spent on worksheets, crafts, or teacher-directed tasks that didn't build literacy skills.

Students don't need to spend every minute reading and writing authentically.  But they do need consistent, meaningful opportunities to do so.
