Amplify what your students are
looking for,
listening for
and thinking about
as they READ!
There are 222 individual cards and two work mats that you plan with and then apply to literacy stations or individual reading time.
Think of these cards as creating opportunities to be looking, hearing and thinking more deeply about a book or other text.
It's like rewatching a movie and looking closely at an event. Enjoy!
What you'll get:
- 5 planning work mats
- 2 literacy station work mats
- 89 literacy vocabulary words
- 133 "I can" action cards
Use the planning work mats to organize which essential learnings you will focus on and when (first half of the year, second half of the year)
Use the literacy work mats and the vocabulary cards to call your students to look for different aspects of print. The "I can" action cards require students to do something. For example:
- I can find an ending. (s, ing, ed)
- I can read words.
- I can use an exclamation mark. (scared, worried, excited…)
- I can make my voice louder when I see BIG letters.
- I can make my voice change when I see slanted letters.
- I can see when a new character is talking. (line breaks and dialogue tags)
- I can read a book again and find something new.
Helping all students to access print more purposefully!
